Welcome to a new school year at Jeffersonville Country Day School. We have an exciting school year planned with many fun and enriching activities for everyone. September’s Mother Goose theme is “Family and Pets”. The four weekly topics will be about My Family, about Me, about My Feelings, and about My Pets. For those new to JCDS and the Mother Goose curriculum, it is a research-based early learning system that supports social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Each school day will be different and packed with exciting things to learn and do. The curriculum will be used for our toddler, 3-year-old preschool and our 4 year-old/prekindergarten programs. Please let us know if you have any questions.
The Norristown Bookmobile will continue to bring books to JCDS every third Tuesday of the month. These books are shared with the students in Ms. Yacono and Ms. AJ’s classrooms.
Our next four monthly Monday staff meetings are on September13th, October 11th, November 22nd, and December 13th. We will be closing at 5:30 PM on these days. Children must be picked up by 5:30pm for those families doing the 8:30am-5:30pm block.
With the start of the new school year brings several new families to JCDS. Please be aware of parents “piggy backing” into the school after you enter. Anyone authorized to enter JCDS will have a keytag. While it is polite to open a door for someone, do not do it unless you know the person. This is for the safety and security of everyone at JCDS.
We have several children enrolled at JCDS with food allergies. If not treated properly or promptly, the allergies can have serious ramifications. We have always had a policy within the school that children do not share food at lunchtime (or anytime for that matter) because of the potential for an allergic reaction to food. We are requesting that parents follow this same rule anytime they are in the school.
In the event that your child will not attend school or may arrive late, we would like parents to call or send an email to us so our teachers can plan accordingly.
