June 2018 Newsletter
As we come to the end of the school year, we would like to thank you for your patronage and support you have given throughout the past year. Ms. Yacono’s and Miss Hoy’s classes will have a monthly theme of Zoo and Aquariums, while the toddlers and pretoddlers have a theme of Fun In The Sun.
On Wednesday, June 13th, we will be having an end of the year picnic for all classes. Sign-up sheets for picnic foods will be posted in each classroom. As always, if you can manage a break in your schedule, all parents and grandparents are more than welcome to join in the fun! Check your child’s sign-up sheet for the time of their lunch/picnic.
On Thursday, June 14th, we will have a presentation from Children’s Dental Health on the importance of taking care of your teeth, healthy habits such as brushing and flossing your teeth and what are good and bad foods for your teeth. This program starts at 10:00am.
We will be closing at 5:30PM on Monday, June 18th for our monthly staff meeting. Our next school holiday closing will be Wednesday, July 4th for the observance of Independence Day.
Our Jamboree Summer Program will begin on Monday, June 18th. We have many special events coming to the school this summer. More information will be coming out in the next week or two. The children will be spending a considerable amount of time outside, thus a few reminders. Children should have sun screen that parents have already used on their child to test for allergies. We also need a doctor’s prescription to apply the sunscreen. The prescription can read “apply sunscreen as needed”.
We will be having sprinkler fun, so please provide your child with a bathing suit and towel (name on both items) at the beginning of each week, and we will return both items at the end of the week. Lunch will be eaten outside when possible in Ms. Yacono’s and Miss Hoy’s classes, thus we are requesting the omission of lunch items requiring the microwave to serve. Sneakers must be worn on a daily basis. Please no sandals or flip-flops, as these choices in footwear are not the safest for running and playing outside, and can inhibit your child’s ability to enjoy outdoor play.
Our summer events kick off with one of our favorite performers, the Segal Puppet Theatre on Monday, June 18th at 3:00pm with Silly Sideshow Circus. On Tuesday, June 26th at 10:00am, The Magic of Ari Paul will be performing. Parents are welcome to join the audience on days we have performers. More details on our summer events will be forthcoming.
If you have not notified us of your summer vacation plans at this point, please let us know the dates so we can plan accordingly. A Vacation Notification Form is attached for your convenience.
For all of you who are not joining us after June 15th, we wish you and your family a safe and fun summer. Happy Father's Day (June 17th) to all our Dads!!!
