March 2018 Newsletter
Our themes for the month of March will have elements of Spring in them. The first day of Spring is just 20 days away. Ms. Yacono and Miss Hoy’s classes will have a theme of “Spring Is In The Air”, while the toddlers and pre-toddlers will have their theme as “Dr. Seuss’ Birthday”. Other topics for the month are: Daylight Saving Time (Sunday, March 11th - spring ahead one hour), St. Patrick’s Day (Saturday, March 17th) and Poison Prevention Week (March 18 - 24).
Any family that has not registered for our 2018-19 school year should do so now to secure enrollment for this fall. Without the registration, we cannot guarantee a spot for your child(ren). We do have limited openings in some classes this fall. Remember that we offer a free week of tuition for any referrals that register.
To honor the great Dr. Seuss on his birthday, JCDS will have a pajama day on Friday, March 2nd. Please send your child(ren) to school wearing their pajamas. It will be a day of fun and celebration. You may want to bring a change of clothing, in the event the weather is nice and we can go outside.
On Tuesday, March 6th at 8:30 am, CLS Photo Group will be at the school to take individual and class pictures. Please mark your calendars so your child(ren) will look their best. For those children not attending school on Tuesday, but want to have their picture taken, please see Larry Brown.
Our next three staff meetings will be on the following Mondays: March 26th, April 23rd, and May 21st. We will be closing at 5:30PM for the meetings.
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, March 24th at 10:00AM. JCDS closed on Good Friday, March 30th.
Many parents have provided JCDS with their email address to receive our monthly newsletter as well as their child’s classroom newsletter. Email has also been a wonderful way to share some of the pictures of the children we have taken. If you have not provided your email address, you may be missing out on important information and pictures. In the event you have misplaced your JCDS monthly newsletter, you can find it on our website. Log into www.jeffersonvillecds.com, find the Parents link, then click Newsletters. Do not forget to check our Facebook page for pictures.
An Irish Blessing
May there always be work for your hands to do
May your purse always hold a coin or two
May the sun always shine on your windowpane
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain
May the hand of a friend always be near you
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
