March 2017 Newsletter
Our themes for the month of March will have elements of Spring in them. The first day of Spring is just 20 days away. Ms. Yacono and Miss Hoy’s classes will have a theme of “Spring Into Reading”, while the toddlers and pre-toddlers will have their theme as “Luck Of the Toddlers”. Other topics for the month are: Daylight Saving Time (Sunday, March 12th - spring ahead one hour), St. Patrick’s Day (Friday, March 17th) and Poison Prevention Week (March 19 - 25).
Any family that has not registered for our 2017-18 school year should do so now to secure enrollment for this fall. Without the registration, we cannot guarantee a spot for your child(ren). We do have limited openings in some classes this fall. Remember that we offer a free week of tuition for any referrals that register.
On Tuesday, March 7th at 8:30 am, CLS Photo Group will be at the school to take individual and class pictures. Please mark your calendars so your child(ren) will look their best. For those children not attending school on Tuesday, but want to have their picture taken, please see Larry Brown.
JCDS would also be closed Friday, March 17th for a staff in-service training day as we continue to meet Keystone STARS annual professional development training requirements. Professional development requirements range from 21 to 27 hours.
Our next three staff meetings will be on the following Mondays: March 13th, April 10th, and May 15th. We will be closing at 5:30PM for the meetings.
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 8th at 10:00AM.
JCDS closed on Good Friday, April 14th.
Many parents have provided JCDS with their email address to receive our monthly newsletter as well as their child’s classroom newsletter. Email has also been a wonderful way to share some of the pictures of the children we have taken. If you have not provided your email address, you may be missing out on important information and pictures. In the event you have misplaced your monthly newsletter, you can find it on our website. Log into www.jeffersonvillecds.com, find the Parents link, then click Newsletters. Do not forget to check our Facebook page for pictures.
An Irish Blessing
May you always have. A sunbeam to warm you.
Good luck to charm you. And a sheltering angel so nothing can harm you.
Laughter to cheer you. Faithful friends near you.
And whenever you pray, heaven to hear you.
