August 2016 Newsletter
As we enter the final month of our summer program, it is hard to believe there are only five weeks left until a new school year begins. Our summer curriculum themes for Ms. Yacono and Miss Hoy’s classes will be Teamwork, while the toddlers have a theme of Stories and Music.
Coming to JCDS this month: Storyteller Don Dougherty presents the story “It’s A Great BIG, Really Small World” on Tuesday, August 2nd at 3:00pm. Peter Moses brings his interactive music and songs on Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00am. David Perry’s Drawings, Songs, & Silliness will be here on Monday, August 15th at 3:00pm. Professor Bob’s Hands on Science makes his second visit of the summer on Thursday, August 25th at 2:00pm. Do not forget to check out our JCDS Facebook page for pictures and/or videos of the events.
Baby pictures have been posted in classrooms for our Baby Picture Contest. Please take a moment to complete a ballot. The person with the most correct choices in each classroom will be the winner of a $20 Walmart gift card. Good luck!
JCDS will be closing at 5:30pm for our monthly staff meeting on Monday, August 15th.
Our fifth annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser will conclude on Friday, August 19th with a Water Play and Lemonade Day. Further information will be forthcoming.
Our summer program will be ending on Friday, September 2nd. The new school year will begin Tuesday, September 6th. For those families entering different schools in September, please let Larry Brown know your child’s last day of attendance. Key tags will also need to be returned.
With school enrollment in full gear before September, do not forget our parent referral program. Parents that refer another family to the school will receive one FREE WEEK OF TUITION for each enrolled family.
For those families leaving JCDS at the end of this month, we would like to wish you the very best, and thank you for the opportunity of providing an Early Childhood Education for your child.
