Dear Parent(s),
February’s theme “Light and Dark” will have the children learning about the importance of light, along with exploring and creating light and dark. The concept of lightness and darkness within nature and man-made creations will help the children understand this month’s theme. Other topics will include National Children’s Dental Health Month, and the February holidays of Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, and President’s Day.
Student Progress Reports will be issued during the week of February 6th. All Progress Reports must be signed and returned back to school by Monday, February 13th. During the week of February 13th, any parent who would like the opportunity to discuss their child’s Progress Report may set up a convenient time with their child’s teacher.
Beginning in February, we will be requesting acknowledgment for those parents interested in continuing their child(ren) in the Summer Jamboree Program, along with registrations for the Fall 2012 School Year. If you wish your child(ren) to attend JCDS for the Fall 2012 School Year, a $50.00 registration fee ($80.00 for two or more children) will secure their spot(s). All current students and infants will have the first opportunity for registering up until February 13th, after which time we can not guarantee a spot without the registration fee. A confirmation form is attached for your convenience. Please check off the appropriate boxes, and return the form and registration fee to Larry Brown by Monday, February 13th.
The school will be closed on President’s Day, Monday, February 20th for a JCDS staff-training day.
All families will be receiving a Wolfgang Candy Fundraiser Envelope by February 13th. Your support in this fundraiser is greatly appreciated. If every JCDS family is able to make at least a small purchase ($10-$15), it will be very helpful towards the success of the fundraiser. Order forms are due on Monday, February 27th. Orders should be delivered by the week of March 19th. Thank you for your support!
Upcoming Events
Slayton Studios will be at JCDS on Wednesday, March 7th to take individual and class photos.
Our annual JCDS Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st at 10:00 AM
JCDS will be closed for the observance of Good Friday on April 6th.
JCDS will be closed on Friday, May 11th for the DVAEYC conference.
